With it spring brings inspiration! I have not been inspired in a while but something about this time of year is making me want to write forever and ever, sitting on a bed of roses with my braided hair laying on my shoulder while I wear a headband of flowers. It sounds just delightful! But that is only the stuff of dreams. What I meant to reflect on was how fashion can demonstrate just that: romanticism.
Take a look at these new fancy-schmancy ideas from designers YOU love.

Oscar de la Renta's take on the tree (or should I say flower)-hugging trend of 2009. Who doesn't love a little may flowers during april showers? Perfect for cheering yourself up during a rainstorm.

Versace's chic hippie is an alltogether different classic idea. The curve-hugging dress is a reasonable length and yet alluring at the same time. The watercolor pinks and purples make it perfect for a Valentine's Day date-- or just as a pick-me-up.

For the soccer mom's view on florals try this Elie Tahari more reasonably-priced dress (at $348 it was a bit tight for the purse strings, but at $207, on SaksFifthAvenue.com, it's a real snag!). It looks great on all body types and the belt shows off a slim waist. Try this with black heels and you're in for a gala or just a dinner with your coworkers.
For one last hurrah I bring you the young girl's take on florals! For all of us who have a little inner hippie in us this outfit is a must-have:

At £140, it's not too bad. Translate that to dollars and you've got yourself a bargain. About...280, I'd say. Oh I can never remember the exact exchange rates these days. Either way, this dress is vibrant and exuberant, like a blooming flower. It's also extremely comfortable and the colors are stunning. Take these four looks and wear the trend the way you like: sophisticated, sexy, simple, or spectacular.
